Aquarela Sabol ART

Aquarela Sabol is a Miami-based fine artist, muralist and overall visual creator.
She attended Columbia College Chicago for fine arts in the late 90’s, however she is primarily a self taught artist. Her preferred medium is oils combined with non-traditional fine art mediums such as spray paint, textiles, reclaimed wood and found objects. Aquarela’s favorite subject matter generally focuses on portraiture and the feminine form with a nod to popular culture, combining design, context and setting to provoke deeper interpretations of each piece. She is also working on a new body of 3d and sculptural work that involves text and hand designed fonts in which she uses wood as a preferred medium: cutting, carving or forging words into the medium, to stimulate the viewer’s personal interpretation of language and it’s meaning as a form of visual communication.

Over the past several years, Aquarela has participated in numerous group exhibitions locally and internationally, including Spectrum Art Basel and the MoMA Design Store in NY. Her first solo show opened Oct, 2015 at Gregg Sheinbaum Fine Art Gallery in Wynwood with much success. Her street art murals can be seen in Wynwood, Little Haiti, Miami Beach, Tulum Mexico (Tulum Art Project), Mana Urban Projects (Wynwood), The Bushwick Collective (Brooklyn, NY),JMZ Walls (Brooklyn, NY), and HUE MUral Festival (Houston, TX).

She regularly does site specific installation work for hotels and restaurants, predominantly in Miami and New York.

Aquarela resides in Allapattah, Miami where she also has a fine art studio.
